Do you ever feel lonely in your improv?

That's me back in 2011 ish. I was feeling pretty lost and lonely in my improv.

I was spending 3 hours every Saturday travelling to Manchester and back to do an improv course with the lovely Comedy Sportz.

The course was great and so were the people but I only saw them for a couple of hours and then it was back on the train. They were going out for drinks, watching shows together and I was miles away missing all the fun.

Improv was my passion but I constantly felt left out and frustrated.

There was very little improv in Lancaster at the time so I had to travel. Zoom wasn't a thing back then either so I had little choice but to travel. In the end the constant frustration led me to create We Are Improv but that's a story for another day.

And I know there are improvisers out there right now feeling the same. Wanting to improvise, wanting their own group, wanting to have someone to chat improv with, wanting that community.

So that is why I've created the Improv Geekery Patreon account, to create connection and community.

No matter where you are in the world you can sign up, and come along to the group activities!

Come and chat improv with other improvisers, find some like minded individuals and make some improv friends. Because we all know that improv friends are the best friends!

Connection and community is at the heart of We Are Improv and it always will be.

There will be opportunities for us to meet online to do social activities together as well as stuff to help you grow as an improviser from the comfort of your own home.

My hope is to grow and nurture an online space that is a positive, supportive environment where we learn and play together!

I'd love to see you there, helping the dream become a reality!
